  • Avoid using/applying products containing retinol on the area to be treated 12 hours prior.
  • Avoid auto-immune therapies or products 12 hours prior.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure of the face 24 hours prior. Dermapen4TM treatment will not be used on sunburnt skin.

DERMAPEN AFTERCARE – POST-TREATMENT

Treated skin may feel warm and tighter, having an appearance of moderate to severe sunburn. This is normal and will reduce over the next hours to days. Average recovery is within the 24 hours. There may still be some minimal redness in some areas.

Post-treatment skincare products will be advised, use of which will be explained accordingly. You can resume your normal skincare 48 hours after the procedure and if unsure please get in touch. 4 to 6 treatment sessions are recommended for optimal results. Succeeding sessions/treatments will be advised once the first session has been completed by your clinician which can vary due to skin type, age and health. On the day of your treatment please avoid touching your face as this can introduce post infection. Please change your pillow case and avoid exercise after your session on the day. Please avoid sun exposure.

Below are the instructions after treatment:

  • For the following 48 hours, use a gentle and soothing facial cleanser or face wash with lukewarm water to clean the face, gently drying the treated skin with a clean towel by patting it. Ensure that your hands are clean. Bepanthen Antiseptic can be applied.
  • Do not use makeup 24 hours after the procedure. When using makeup after 24 hours, use a clean makeup applicator.
  • Do not expose your skin directly into the sun for 48 hours.
  • Apply a broad spectrum, chemical-free sunscreen after 48 hours after the procedure only if you are going in the sun directly for more than 10 minutes for 14 days after the treatment. Ideally, UVA/UVB with SPF30. It is also strongly advised to always wear a hat for 14 days after treatment as an added layer of sun protection.
  • Day of treatment have a clean pillow case on your pillow before going to bed.
  • After your treatment do not exercise for 24-48 hours.
